About The HousePet HouseVet LLC
The Housepet Housevet began with the career development idea, “figure out what you love, and then find a way to make a living doing that.” I have loved practicing veterinary medicine, but I’ve always wished I could spend more time with pet owners. Answering your questions, making difficult concepts easy to understand, putting your mind at ease: these are the parts of veterinary medicine I love the most. Helping people work through difficult decisions, and being a supportive hand to hold when it’s time to say goodbye to a beloved companion: these are the most difficult, but most rewarding aspects of the career I’ve chosen.I believe that in today’s fast-paced America things get so automated, so streamlined, that the human connection of what we do is often lost. I founded The Housepet Housevet to be able to provide connection-centered and bond centered veterinary care – care that honors and focuses on the connection between you and your pet, and the connection between you and me as people who sincerely want what’s best for your pet. I’m happy to bring this much-needed service to the greater Baton Rouge area.

She and her husband traveled extensively, visiting England, Ireland, Iceland, Norway, Germany, Poland, Czech Republic, Hungary, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, France, Spain, Austria, Switzerland and Italy. (So in addition to great advice for your pet’s health care, ask her if you need a good B&B in Amsterdam!)Dr. Carrie returned to Baton Rouge in 2008 with a dream of starting a house call practice with a focus on client education and honoring the bond between people and their pets. When she is not helping people who love their pets, she enjoys making beaded jewelry, reading, and playing board games and video games with her friends and family. She is an avid Muppets fan and loves karaoke. She lives in south Baton Rouge with her husband Mike, a process engineer at Rubicon in Geismar, their 2 dogs, Beavis and Sarge, and their cat Scout.
